The Feywild is, at least in past editions of D&D lore, something of a bizarre mirror to our own plane of existence – similar to the astral plane or the more sinister Shadowfell (explored a bit in the recent release Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft). The Plane of Faerie, as it's also known, is the original home of many of D&D's most notable creatures, including elves, goblins, and hags. Its inhabitants are famed for being mischievous or alluring, often creating dangerous bargains with mortals of the Material Plane – the cover art for the book depicts what appears to be a magical carnival, which seems about as dangerously mischievous as you can get.
